His daughter May remembered him telling the angry gardener that no bird in the garden must be touched.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"story\"\u003eBlue, then colour\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMorris printed it by indigo discharge: the whole cloth was dyed blue, then the pattern was bleached out and the colours block-printed in. It was the first time he added red and yellow this way, and it took days.
