What you get

Your pet painted in loose watercolor on bright white paper: soft washes, fine ink at the eyes, nose and whiskers, a quiet wash of colour behind the head, and bare paper everywhere else. Designed digitally in our studio, proofed with you, and printed with archival pigment inks. Dignified and painterly, never cartoonish. Choose a digital file, an unframed fine art print, a framed print, or a framed canvas, in five sizes.

Included — no upcharges
  • More than one pet. Two, three, the whole household — one painting, one price. Most shops charge $24 to $58 for each extra pet.
  • People welcome. Add yourself, your kids, your partner, standing with them.
  • Separate photos are fine. Pets rarely sit still together, so send the best photo of each and we paint them into a single piece.
  • A caption under the painting in elegant script — a name, or a name and dates.
  • A proof before we print. Always.

How to order your painting

A house, a dog, a person — or all of them in one picture. The steps are the same whatever you send us.

  1. Send your photograph

Your house, your dog, the two of them together. One photograph from your phone is enough.

  2. See it before it is printed

Your proof arrives within 24 hours. Change anything, as many times as you like, at no charge. Nothing goes to print until you say yes.

  3. On your wall

On your wall 6 to 13 business days after you approve your proof — 4 to 6 to make it, 2 to 7 in transit, free anywhere in the US. Framed pieces arrive ready to hang.

Common questions

Am I buying the original painting?

No — this is a fine art print, and that is what keeps it affordable. Your pet portrait is painted digitally from your photo and then printed at high resolution on archival paper or canvas, in the size and format you choose. the print is the finished piece. If you would rather print it yourself, choose the digital file option.

What kind of photo do you need?

The best one you have. Daylight at their eye level, close enough to see the markings, gives us the most to work with, but an ordinary phone photo is usually all we need. If it will not work we will send you a request for a new photo, or a refund.

Do I see it before it prints?

Yes, every time. You receive a proof within 24 to 48 hours and nothing goes to the printer until you say so. If we do not hear back within 48 hours of a proof you have not responded to, we print the proofed version so a gift still arrives on time.

What if I want something changed?

Ask. Revisions are included and there is no cap on reasonable adjustments — a lighter wash, a mouth open instead of closed, one pet moved to the other side.

Can I add a second pet, or a person?

Yes, and it costs nothing. Send a separate photo for each and we compose them into one painting.

How is it made?

The artwork is digitally painted from your photo in our studio, then printed with archival pigment inks.

Is it ready to hang?

Framed prints and framed canvases arrive assembled with hanging hardware fitted. Unframed prints ship rolled in a tube so you can use a frame you already love.

How long does it take?

A proof within 24 to 48 hours, then 3 to 5 business days to print and dispatch after you approve, with tracked and free US shipping.
